Abstract: With the increasing of large scale constructions of rock mass engineering,the comprehensive contents should be known which include the strength of jointed rock mass and relative aspects,based on high demands on the jointed rock mass.This article earnestly generalized the studies on theories and testing of jointed rock masses at the home and abroad,and discussed the developments of theoretical strength criterions,empirical strength criterions,laboratory testing,numerical modeling and constitutive models of jointed rock mass.Finally,several key issues needed to be further studied are put forward.
