Abstract: Coalbed methane(CBM) development project may be threatened by coal mine goaf subsidence, different development project deployment schemes produce different geological hazard risk assessment, thereby have different economic benefits. This paper introduces three kinds of deployment schemes of development wells in the goaf subsidence area, conducts the geological hazard risk assessment and comprehensive zoning of each scheme, calculates the pipeline throughput, cash flow and profit of each scheme, each zone, there are differences in zones of high and medium risk. For scheme 1 more CBM is extracted, more development facilities are damaged too, the economic benefit is poor; For scheme 2, less development facilities are damaged, less CBM is extracted, the economic benefit is medium; For scheme 3, less development facilities are damaged, more CBM can be extracted, the economic benefit is good. There are more advantages in scheme 3 for risk zoning by using payback period of investment, scheme 3 has been accepted by developer.
