The prediction model of small fault extending length by using multi-variable linear regression

  • A method of multi-variable linear regression analysis by means of the worksheet function of Microsoft Excel is introduced for estimating the parameters of multiple linear regression. Based on the fracture structures revealed by mining No.7 coal seam in Zhaoguan mine of Huanghebei coal field, the mathematics module can be founded to predict the small faults by way of using this method. On the basis of discussing the development regularities of small faults in No.7 coal seam, we get three mathematics models to predict the small faults in NE, NEE and NW directions respectively. And practical application is given to illuminate the feasibility of the models.
