Research on collapse prevention emulsions used in directional drilling in coal mine

  • The most effective way of controlling mine gas is to drain it by directional hole. PCM and TCA were taken as monomers to synthesize MZ-1 emulsion by inverse emulsion polymerization. Its rheological properties, collapse-preventing and ability for resisting pulverized coal pollution have been evaluated by laboratory experiments, and tested in borehole 9 at drill site 2 in ventilation detour at level 3 of Dongpang coal mine. The results showed that the drilling fluid prepared by MZ-1 emulsion had good rheology, high viscosity and shear force under condition of low concentration; the ability of collapse prevention was the stronger than that of imported emulsion A, B,vegetable gums and PHP; and its ability of resisting pulverized coal pollution was good, it had good rheology when the concentration of pulverized coal was up to 10%.
