Development of BIM-based automatic monitoring platform for foundation pit engineering

  • In consideration of the difficulties and the problems during monitoring of foundation pit construction, three information technologies (project information portal PIP, building information modeling BIM and internet of things IOT) were combined with foundation it engineering, a automatic monitoring system and a management platform for foundation pit engineering, suitable for the characteristics of foundation pit engineering, were formed. Through the platform, the overall process from parameterized modeling and analog simulation to monitoring of a foundation pit and the dynamic visualization of different production factors during the whole life cycle were realized. 3D BIM model can monitor conveniently and quickly a foundation pit, ensure the safety of the surrounding environments during excavating and supporting the foundation pit, maximize the economic benefit of foundation pit engineering.
