The application of OVT domain processing technology in deep CBM exploration in Qinshui Basin

  • In the middle and eastern part of Qinshui Basin, due to its big buried depth(more than 1 000 m), strong anisotropy of coal seams, strong tectonic folds, development of small structures and fractures, and fragmentation of coal structure, wide azimuth 3D seismic exploration has been carried out in order to improve the imaging accuracy of thin coal reservoirs, small faults and fractures, and meet the requirements of lithologic interpretation. In order to give full play to the advantages of wide azimuth seismic data, advanced OVT domain processing technology was introduced in the processing. Through the key technologies such as gather sorting, five dimensional interpolation in OVT domain, prestack time migration in OVT domain, and azimuthal anisotropy correction, high resolution and high fidelity seismic data were obtained. In the interpreta-tion, we make full use of the omni-directional and square quantile seismic data formed by OVT processing to realize the fine description of deep coal bearing strata and its faults, collapse columns, flexure and other micro structures, improve the accu-racy of structural interpretation, and provide basic data for prestack inversion and anisotropic research, and provide technical support for the later CBM exploration and development deployment.
