Study on application of rock hardness prediction with logging data

  • In this paper,the relationship between rock hardness and logging parameters is discussed firstly,and the method for predicting rock hardness by combining logging data and mathematics is performed.The results indicate there is good relevance between rock hardness and acoustic logging data,and rock hardness seems no relations with natural gamma logging data.After the prediction model for rock hardness based on acoustic logging data is proposed,the prediction results are verified and modified for accuracy improvement of 90%,meeting engineering requirement.The prediction results can be used as guidance for bit design and selection,at the same time the method can crack the difficulty that intact rock used in laboratory test can not represent the whole cores,thus real-time prediction of rock hardness could be realized quickly in practice.
